Poem: An Arrow Into the Sky

The Arrow in the Sky

I shot an arrow into the sky,
Not knowing where it went
Someone may have picked it up,
played with it;
it's now broken and bent

I shot an arrow into the sky,
Not knowing where it went
It may have hit a plane,
And left a funny dent

I shot an arrow into the sky,
Not knowing where it went
I found it in an unfortunate fox,
This was where the arrow was sent

11/11/11 at 11:11 AM!

Happy 1111111111 day! This is the second to last year you will ever have years, months, days, and hours the same number. After 2012's 12121212, there won't be another funny date like this in the next 88 years!

Don't forget... reduce, reuse, recycle! And keep on smelling!

Daylight Savings- Fall Back and Sleep in

As you all know, today is daylight savings. Because summers have longer days, and winters have longer nights, (because of the earth's axis) we jump the time one hour in spring (spring forward), and bring it back one hour in the fall (fall back). Benjamin Franklin started this so that people would work longer in all the seasons. This is because psychologically, people work better in daylight; so Benjamin moved these hours around to maximize the amount of daylight in work.

Anyways, have fun sleeping in... and keep on smelling!

[Daylight savings time does not take place in Hawaii (too close to the equator and gets enough sunlight) and Alaska (far from the equator and gets little difference in sunlight from DLST)]
