Book Review: Physics: Why Matter Matters! by Dan Green

"You'll meet everyday characters, such as Friction, who slows down your bike, and the superfast Neutrinos, who are out of this world. They are a dashing group, full of pizzazz, and they're all here waiting for you..."*

Sounds like your everyday comic book with your everyday heros and their awe-inspiring characteristics, huh? Guess what: you've just read a passage from a science book...

MORE MANGA!!!!!!

Hello Smellityet viewers! I know I haven't been posting anything lately, but I am now! From the title above, you probably already know what this post is going to be about... That's right... TURTLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just kidding! This really is about manga/anime. So here in this drawing, there is a wizard person doing a spell. Now it's not just any spell... For it is Avada Kedavra! If you've never heard of that, and you are sitting in a chair going,"WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?", never fear because I will explain. This drawing is based upon the Harry Potter series. Mainly, it's based on the fourth book, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. In that series, Avada Kedavra is the spell to kill. Now, let me explain the picture if you haven't already read that book. The girl in the picture is saying, "Avada Kedavra!", she is using the spell on the spider, the spider is dead, and there is the green flash. All of this is just how it explains the spell will be like in the book. Ok, well that's all for now! Hopefully I'll be posting again soon! Until then... Smellityet?

UCLA Book Fair

Hello, Cora fan here! Yesterday, I went to the UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) book fair and had an amazing time. There were books as far as the eye can see. Also, the place was so crowded, I felt like I was at Disneyland. It was definitely loud with people calling out to sell lemonade, people just talking, and authors talking to children while signing books. Speaking of signing books, I got a book signed by an author too. Well, I got The Mysterious Mr.Spines: Wings signed by the author, Jason Lethcoe. How cool is that? And the book is spectacular too. Being able to meet the author who wrote the book is simply amazing. As you can see, I had an amazing time at the book fair. Also, if you get a chance to go, you should. By the way, the book fair is still going on today. Cora fan here saying keep on smelling!

Inkheart

Last friday I went to see Inkheart. Since I read the book, I was very excited to see the movie. However, I was really disappointed. There were so many things about the movie that I didn't like. First of all, I thought the story was moving too fast. Yes, yes, I know it's a movie and so they have to squeeze 563 pages into two hours or so, but still it was a bummer to me that they rushed the story line. The next thing that was disappointing was that the movie didn't actually stay true to the book. For example, in the novel, Mo already had the book, Inkheart, but in the movie, Mo was always looking for it. For these reasons, I prefer the book over the movie. I highly recommend reading the book (you can borrow it from the public library) and skipping on the movie (saving your $$$).Tell me what you thought of the book, the movie, or both.
