Last friday I went to see Inkheart. Since I read the book, I was very excited to see the movie. However, I was really disappointed. There were so many things about the movie that I didn't like. First of all, I thought the story was moving too fast. Yes, yes, I know it's a movie and so they have to squeeze 563 pages into two hours or so, but still it was a bummer to me that they rushed the story line. The next thing that was disappointing was that the movie didn't actually stay true to the book. For example, in the novel, Mo already had the book, Inkheart, but in the movie, Mo was always looking for it. For these reasons, I prefer the book over the movie. I highly recommend reading the book (you can borrow it from the public library) and skipping on the movie (saving your $$$).Tell me what you thought of the book, the movie, or both.
Would you still consider the movie worth seeing for people who have not read the book?
ReplyDeleteThe movie was not worth seeing on my opinion. I didn't think this book was made for a movie, actually. Some of the things just had to take imagination and no amount of "special effects" could make you feel as you would if you were reading the book. Also, in the beginning, people who have not read the book would be confused. You see them searching for a book and you would ask yourself,"What does this have to do with the movie?"
ReplyDeleteCora Fan, I like your movie reviews. Have you seen any other movies lately that you could write another review about? Have you seen Coraline?
ReplyDeleteActually, I was planning to go see Coraline this week. It seems like a very fascinating movie and many people have told me to go see it. Many people have also told me that the 3-D effects are very cool and it really feels like you're there. I hope to be writing this review soon.
ReplyDeletePlease see the movie and write a review for us!
