Hello, Legoman here. On a TV channel, a lady was talking about recycling. She said that there are three main things in our life that are in a cycle. One, you see an ad on TV that makes you interested in buying it. Two, you buy the item you saw on TV. Three, you work hard to pay the item off. Then the cycle starts again. After your hard day at work, you relax on your couch and watch some TV. You see an ad with something you like, and you go to the store to buy it. The cycle keeps going on. How does this have anything to do with recycling? Well, since this cycle keeps going on, your house gets filled up with items that you are no longer interested in. But, what happens to the items you are no longer interested in? There is one answer to that: Throwing it out. All that junk you don't use anymore gets sent to a landfill, where it gets buried. In a result, all those people out in the world would also dump their junk at a landfill. What a lot of junk! That is why you shouldn't waste your stuff and "hand me downs" help the Earth. Please recycle!

Hi Legoman,
ReplyDeleteI'm Susannah's mom and I'd seen you mention your website on Ms. Deily's page, so I thought I'd check it out. It looks great!
I have a funny (well, actually it's pretty gross) story about recycling that happened today. I do the recycling of bottles and cans at Oso, and have to regularly throw out trash that kids put in the receptacles. Today after school I was over at the receptacle near the boys' bathroom by Pod C. Someone had thrown a paper lunch sack with food in there so I reached in to fish it out.... and a RAT jumped up! Luckily I didn't touch it!!!! I was totally shocked... and completely freaked out. Lucio, the custodian, cleaned out the receptacle for me because there was no way I was going to put my hand in again. And it gets worse--it turns out there were actually THREE rats in there, all munching away on the food.
Anyway, I just thought I'd share a recycling-related story that you might think interesting! Great job on your blog!
Thank you for feedback! It really helps! Wow, three rats! Haha! :)
