Minecraft Creative Creations 1

I will be piloting a sort of occasional photo-series on a new Minecraft creative world, mode "superflat." Since most of the time I choose to play the survival mode of Minecraft, building freely without stress over collection of resources, enemies, and the coming dangers of night will most likely be relaxing.
Additionally, I want to establish my first official creative world; in other words, something rather than simply leaving a mess and discarding the save file after 30 minutes of pointless shenanigans.
Alright, well, we shall see how this turns out over the next few weeks. Let's begin!

Here we are, the new save file menu. I tend to have issues with naming, so I'll come back to it later. Creating a new world, to be named...

Wonderful! A fresh, barren landscape. It's a bit like the "new car smell" of Minecraft.

I start off by adding touches of bonemeal around, planting a few birch trees, and creating a sort of creek. Now we have our little ecosystem, besides the fact that the rest of this infinite Minecraft realm is still empty. The land is abound with wild pigs, cows, and sheep. We should probably start with something simple, such as a farm. That'd also be nice to round up and domesticate some livestock.
I build a barn. A beginner's barn. It isn't exactly the best barn out there, but it's a barn.

Inside the barn.

We've got a lone cow throwing a fit in the corner there.

Here's the loft with a few "crates," which are actually crafting tables.

I accidentally grow a few trees too close to one another. It's created this monster of a thing!

Here's a clever way to solve the problem: burn it down. Uh-oh! It's burning too much!

Lesson learned: Don't play with fire, be it a computer game or real life.

Way to go, EcoWarrior… At least the rest of the forest remains.

I start a cottage in the middle of nowhere to play around with the new 1.3 feature of sideways logs. A sort of Medieval/ fantasy cottage.

The finished product.

Bird's eye view of the interior.

I made a fireplace, but it started burning down the house when I lit it. For "liability," I leave a WARNING sign for the next  medieval hermit or dwarf who chooses to inhabit this little cottage. Maybe they'll have better luck with fires.

The attic, which is nearly impossible to access unless one decides to burn the house down (the unrealistic qualities of Minecraft physics make this possible). These two chests can actually open because the block above them is a stairway. The spiderweb really adds some character to this attic.

An outdoor side view.

The side of the cottage.

I hope you enjoyed this week's cheesy creations and my little mishap!
Most likely I will choose a texture pack to "spice it up" next time.
